Really disappointing to see chivas so low in the opening round. if they continue to get these sorts of attendances, I'm not sure they wont be around next season.
ReplyDeleteRebrand and move Chivas.
ReplyDeletethat is all.
Agreed, Down to San Diego would be the best option. Get rid of the Chivas name and they might actually attract Mexican supporters rather than deterring 80% of Mexican fans who support other clubs such as America, Pumas, Cruz Azul etc.
ReplyDeletethanks for the stats on attendance!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit Chivas USA may not be the right brand but I do believe LA needs a second MLS team right now. History is very important and in the future LA will easily be able to support 2 MLS teams. If Chivas relocates, the galaxy will pretty much dominate the MLS fan base in LA. Thus, when LA2 does come back to the city (maybe 5-10 years later) it will have no chance. I believe this is also why Garber is pushing for NYC2 right now. For these multi-team markets the history and roots need to be in place to have financial success in the future.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get you stats? I am curious how week 1 one of 2012 compares to week 1 2013...
ReplyDeleteHI!
ReplyDeleteI am Ricardo and I am a doing a marketing project for my sports marketing class in college. I was wondering if you could please send me the attendance figures of The New England Revolution since their inception in 1996. The format that you use in your blog is perfect. Game 1 through Game X, attendance, capacity, percent full , and percentage change.
Rest assured your blog will be properly cited on the report
Thank You again, I am looking forward to your response soon
you may send the results to ricardo_sandor@hotmail.com
Cheers,
Ricardo Sándor
